About Aspen

From film festivals to some of the best skiing in Colorado, Aspen has something for everyone.

The area is perhaps most well known for the abundance of white snow that blankets the mountains here every winter. With four different mountains to choose from, there is something for skiers of all ability levels.

If it’s music you’re looking for, you have come to the right place. Jazz Aspen Snowmass puts on a festival in June and again over Labor Day. The June event is typically more classic jazz artists such as Maceo Parker and Elvis Costello. The labor day usually attracts more mainstream acts such as artists like Widespread Panic and Jack Johnson. The Belly Up offers shows year round and has been known to host acts as large as Jimmy Buffet!

Into film? The Aspen Filmfest will take you on a journey through cinema and hopefully somewhere new and unexpected. The Aspen Short Fest is a well known celebration of short films and film making that has been going on for over seventeen years.

In the summer months, the Food & Wine Classic and Aspen Arts Festival are two of the most popular events. You’ll also want to make sure you don’t miss out on the fireworks for the annual fourth of July celebration.

Want to get out and explore more of the mountains around town? Aspen is mere minutes from the most photographed peaks in all of Colorado, the Maroon Bells. These twin fourteen thousand foot summits rise majestically over the waters of Maroon lake, all of which is framed by a classic glacially shaped valley. Don’t miss it!
